It’s been quite a while since you have heard from me. I had been unable to connect due to major computer problems. I sure am glad things are back to normal again. Admittedly, not being able to use the computer allowed me to spend more time with friends than I usually do. This was VERY enjoyable.
Today I would like to continue with an update on Johanna Her mom started going back to work 2 weeks ago, so it is up to her dad to take care of his baby. He is the lucky guy with a flat rate for whole and raw food, so it is very easy for him to do his job of feeding the baby.
I met them a few days ago at her grandma’s. I couldn’t believe how fast Johanna has matured. I hadn’t seen her for quite a while, and this happy little girl impressed me again. She takes all her naps outdoors (November is pretty chilly around here.) and sleeps in the family bed at night. She is a balanced, friendly little person who has started to move around on her own. Johanna now is 9 months old, and very active crawling around all over and trying to get up on her feet. I tried to take her picture while she was moving but I couldn’t because she was so fast.
It won’t be long, and she will be able to have family food. In fact, she is already sharing whole raw cereal for breakfast. This is a delicious meal made of ground raw grains, fresh fruit and a few nuts. I have had it for breakfast for many years too, and I never get tired of it as I vary the grains and fruits I use often. Usually I take seasonal produce. It keeps you satisfied for 4 to 6 hours and helps to prevent and overcome cravings for sugar and constipation. There are many more benefits to it such as the enhanced production of red blood cells. This is important for pregnant moms.
Raw grains are of high nutritional value both for adults and children of any age. This is why they are an ingredient of raw almond milk when mother’s milk is not available to feed a baby.
Raw grains are a powerhouse of nutrients which include the vitamin B complex, fat soluble vitamins, minerals, healthy fats, protein, fiber, encymes. The raw grain cereal will help Johanna to develop healthy bones and teeth and supports the proper functioning of the brain and nerves. Well-functioning nerves and a well nourished brain are the physical foundation of a balanced mood. As parents we all desire a happy and content baby, don’t we? It makes life so much easier.
It is very easy to make your raw cereal.
Here is a recipe of a cereal Johanna and her family are having. As long as Johanna is not chewing well, she gets only the fully blended version of the cereal, the rest of the family like to add some chunks of fresh fruit as can be seen in the picture above.
Recipe Raw Oats Cereal
Serves 1 person
Equipment: 1 blender
3 – 4 tbsp whole organic oat berries
6 – 8 tbsp water
1 ripe medium sized apple
1 ripe banana
1 fresh seasonal fruit such as a pear, an orange, some fresh or frozen berries, a quarter of a pineapple and the like
1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon of raw almonds, walnuts or sunflower seeds or any other kind of nuts.
How to do it
Finely grind the oats, immediately add water to the ground oats,
add the remaining ingredients and blend all.
It is as easy as making a smoothie.
However, I do advise to eat your raw cereal like you are eating soup. Your digestive system will love you for eating it slowly.
Let’s hope technology won’t interfere with communication this time! I got a lot more to share with you. And I’d love to hear from you.
