Most raw vegans, like me, realize that we started very late eating the raw vegan diet.
But that’s not the case of Robert Kornacki, the Raw Teen, from TheRawTeen.com blog.
It takes courage and determination to be a raw vegan, specially when you are surrounded of meat-eaters and still living with your parents, who initially don’t have the same health beliefs as you do and keep offering and insisting that you need to eat cooked stuff.
And Robert, with his Raw Vegan Power, is not only helping his family to eat better with more raw foods, but thousands of people, specially teens, through his example, videos, blog posts, products and coaching as well.
So I’m very excited to share with you this awesome interview, in which we can learn so much from someone so young and clever, like Robert Kornacki.
TheRawTeen.com, Robert Kornacki – Interview
In an age that most teenagers, in their free time, only look to entertain themselves with many things and the Standard American Diet, Robert realized that he was not feeling so well and looked for solutions through the Internet.
And this search led him to raw vegan movement leaders’ videos, such as the ones from The Life Regenerator, recommending not so many calories in the diet, and Durianrider, who recommends lots of calories from fruits.
Following Durianrider’s advice, but getting calories not only from fruits (which may take a lot of time to ripe) Robert felt much better and this started making a huge difference in his whole life.
Being a teenager and still living with his parents he thinks the major challenge teenagers face on the raw vegan diet is the “pure pressure” coming from parents to eat other things.
In the beginning it was tough for him, but he bought The China Study and gave it to his parents, so they learned and agreed with Robert on his reasons to use this diet.
He doesn’t know many raw vegan teens, but he is managing really well the relationship with his colleagues. In school, when someone asks if he doesn’t get tired of eating dates, he just answers with another question like: don’t you get tired of eating sandwiches?
Previously he had lots of mucus and didn’t practice any sport, now the mucus is gone and he already ran 12km and is making lots bodyweight training, handstands and other exercises.
His intention is to get really toned and ripped to be a living proof that this diet can make lots of muscle too!
He has a very complete coaching program to make sure people understand all the principles of health.
And with his two products, 1-Week Raw Food Shopping List and the The Raw Teen’s Top 10 Raw Recipes he helps people starting on the raw vegan diet to take the first crucial steps, which rely mostly on the foods that you have available in your house when you are hungry and the first best recipes that you will need.
A bright future for the raw vegan movement is what Robert sees, so he intends to enroll in Dr. Doug Graham’s course to become a 80/10/10 Certified Lifestyle Coach, instead of going through college.
“Being a raw vegan revolutionized my life and gave me the freedom and power and enjoyment to do what I want and help others to become fit and healthy.”
Robert and I really agreed that the sooner you start giving yourself the best kind of nutrients, through a raw vegan diet, the better it will be.
But usually we are going to find only older people worrying about health issues. During the teen years and even up to our forties, most of us don’t worry so much about health, specially before any signs of issues appearing.
That’s the reason it’s so refreshing and exciting to learn from someone so conscious and clever as Robert Kornacki.
